Refreshments
When you're racing in the mountains, managing your nutrition and hydration is essential if you want to get to the finish in the best possible condition.
❓ But what are the refreshment points along the route? What will I find there? How often are they distributed? Should I bring my own nutrition? What nutritional plan should I adopt to avoid fatigue? How can I manage my waste during the race while respecting the environment? ❓
The Mont Blanc Marathon races are run on a semi-autonomous basis: each runner must be self-sufficient between two feed stations, both in terms of food and equipment. This means they can deal with unforeseen circumstances such as weather, fatigue or injury.
Here you'll find all the information you need to organize your refuelling strategy, optimize your performance and adopt an eco-responsible attitude.

Everything you need to know about refreshments
Quality, variety and respect for the environment : the organization is committed to offering efficient and responsible refreshment points.
The Mont Blanc Marathon races are run semi-autonomously. Semi-autonomy is defined as the ability to be self-sufficient between two refreshment points, in terms of food, clothing and safety equipment, enabling the runner to adapt to foreseeable or unforeseen problems (weather changes, physical problems, injuries, etc.).
It is up to runners to estimate their food and water requirements between two refreshment points. The quantity of water specified in the list of compulsory equipment is the minimum quantity required.

Composition of refreshment points
Two types of refreshment points are available:
During the race (slight differences depending on location or race):
- Food: Bread, tomme, sausage, sweet cakes, Tucs, oranges, bananas, apricots, peaches/nectarines, watermelon (if very hot), MX3 energy bars, MX3 broth. Several refreshment points are set up for each race, at various locations along the course and at the finish. Some refreshment points are set up during the day, others during the evening and night. Depending on your time slot, you'll help setting up the refreshment area, distributing drinks and food to the runners, and cleaning up after the race.
Located on the Place du Mont-Blanc, at the heart of the Trail Camp, the test refreshment stand allows runners to taste the drinks and products that will be distributed at the race refreshment stands. You'll provide information to runners and help set up, stock and tidy the stand.
