The Young Race
For 2025, The Young Race moves up a level with the aim of becoming the world's benchmark trail event for young people (U18 and U20).
Find out more about this new format:
🏁 The start will be given on Saturday June 28, 2025 at 3pm on the Place du Triangle de l'Amitié, in Chamonix.
👟 300 race numbers available for the U18 (born in 2008 or 2009) and U20 (born in 2006 or 2007) age categories.
📍 Two distinct courses according to age category: more technical, with a start/finish in the center of Chamonix.
🏆 Two New Balance U20 athlete contracts up for grabs, new partner of the event. It's the perfect opportunity to join a team.
🎉 Lots of prizes to be won at the awards ceremony and tombola.
💃🕺 To round off the day in style, a party will be organized on Saturday evening especially for participants.

Bibs pick-up
Bibs pick-up for the Young Race Marathon will be possible by appointment only, at the EMC2 space on Place du Mont-Blanc (Chamonix):
- Thursday June 26, 2025 from 9am to 9pm,
- Friday June 27, 2025 from 9am to 9pm,
- Saturday June 28, 2025 from 7:30am to 1pm.
Runners must present photo ID and their race bag containing all compulsory equipment, to enable a timing chip to be fitted and equipment to be checked.
No bibs will be issued to runners without their compulsory equipment and identity papers.
Compulsory equipment
- Cell phone in working order.
- Minimum 0.50-liter water supply.
- Waterproof jacket with hood (gore-tex type) adapted to your size.
- Survival blanket (140cm x 200cm).
- Whistle.
- Tumbler.
Recommended equipment
According to weather conditions:
- Cap.
- Tights.
- Gloves.
Maximum times for each race:
Runners crossing the finish line after the maximum race time will not be classified and therefore not considered as finishers. This maximum time is calculated according to the start time of your wave.
Young Race Marathon U18: maximum race time 2h00
Young Race Marathon U20: maximum race time 3h00
The organizers remind racers that, depending on the systems and settings used, GPX tracks may give different results for race distances and elevation gains.
