The Marathon of tomorrow: reducing our environmental impact through strong, concrete action
Today, outdoor events and trail competitions are ultra-popular, all the more so when they take place in spectacular natural settings. This is why the organizers of these events today face a Kafkaesque dilemma: between exponential attractiveness and an ecological footprint that must be reduced.
A pioneer in mountain running events, the Mont-Blanc Marathon, born in 1979 and supported by the Club des Sports de Chamonix, has always paid particular attention to its environment, and for good reason: the organizers are locals!
That's why we've been taking action for several years now to reduce our environmental impactand are working on long-term solutions, which were presented at an online press conference on April 16, 2024. This one had in link in company of :
