Mont-Blanc Marathon
The Mont Blanc Marathon is an international sporting event organized by the Club des Sports de Chamonixa non-profit association founded in 1905. Over 3 days, eight running competitions are organized around Chamonix, in the Mont Blanc massif.
As announced last spring, the environmental impact analysis carried out in 2023 revealed that 96% of the Mont Blanc Marathon's carbon footprint was linked to the transportation of participants and their companions. In 2025, in order to reduce our environmental impact, 40% of race numbers will be reserved for participants who commit to coming to Chamonix by train or bus. Carbon offsetting of all participants' journeys (home/Chamonix) will also be made compulsory.
